If you feel up to it, I would love to hear how your experience with me went! Feel free to leave a review on facebook or google - it is soooo appreciated!

What to Wear

  • It is best to stick with neutrals! Beige, cream, gray, tan, etc.

The lighter you dress, the dreamier your photos will be!

Most homes are in the scheme of grays + tans - so it's best to dress with what compliments your home.

  • Stay away from bright neon colors, reds + dark colors - such as black.

I will always recommend the family dressed in neutral colors so that the new addition stands out!

  • Stay away from crazy patterns, logos, etc - the simpler the better!

  • Remember that these photos are in your home, so dress comfortably.

The more laid back the better. Dad in a solid polo or nice tee, Mom in a long dress or blouse, kiddos in a nice shirt and jeans! The simpler the better - trust me!

  • Shoes are a no-go!

Don't worry about finding those perfect kicks for the kiddos. I recommend barefoot or socks.

  • I got the outfits, wraps + accessories!

I will send over pictures of everything I have to provide. You choose your wrap - client's are welcome to use their own outfits.

  • Cohesiveness is key.

When choosing the outfit + wraps for the little one, keep in mind that you want everything to be cohesive. Try to stay in the same color family, so that the final images compliment each other well.

The baby will be wrapped in a swaddle for the family portion of the session - keep that in mind when choosing a swaddle color. Pick something that stands out (if you took the tip of dressing the family in neutral), but a color that complements what you're wearing and compliments the color scheme of your home.

I am always an email away for styling help!

Tips + Tricks

  • I need a small space in a room, preferably by a window. The lower the window the better, so usually that would be the front living room. If you’re unsure, I can help when I get there.
  • Prior to me getting there, bath time is also a great option. It makes them sleepy!
  • It’s best if the baby is sleepy and fed. When I arrive I usually will have you feed the baby as I am setting up, to make them full and sleepy
  • I usually start sessions with the wrapping portion first, so even if you just wanted to have the babe wrapped up in a swaddle to make it easy for when I arrive. That would work!

It makes transitions a lot easier if they’re not fully clothed when starting the session.

  • By the end of the feeding, I’m about done setting up. The baby will hopefully be sleepy!

That’s where the great tip of just having the baby swaddled comes into play. So that I don’t have to fully undress the baby to get started!

  • It’s best if the places we will be shooting are decluttered such as the nursery, living room, master, etc.

Bedside tables, coffee tables, changing tables, etc.

What to Wear

  • It is best to stick with neutrals + earthly tones! Beige, cream, gray, tan, green, etc. Shades of blue + pinks work really well with my style as well.

The lighter you dress, the dreamier your photos will be!

  • Stay away from bright neon colors, buffalo plaid, matching plaids + red!

I will always recommend the family dressed in neutral colors with layering, accessories + texture.

  • Stay away from crazy patterns, logos, etc - the simpler the better!

Are you going for the more laid-back look or the more put-together, dressier look? Make sure that you keep in mind your location and what style best suits that scenery. Dad in a solid polo or nice tee, Mom in a sweater, blouse, or long dress, kiddos in a nice shirt and jeans! The simpler the better - trust me!

  • Multiple patterns are a no-go! Mom in a floral dress while others in solid colors is an idea!

I am always an email away for styling help!

Tips + Tricks

  • It is best to arrive at your session earlier rather than later.

Give yourself some extra time for those crazy kiddos, traffic, traveling through parks, etc.

  • Give your kiddos something to look forwards to - bribery I know!

Piece of candy after the session, a trip to the park, extra screen time in the evening, etc. Children love something to look forward to.

  • Bring some snacks!

If you have a little one that likes a fruit snack here and there - bring some snacks for a rest/ snack break!

  • Empty out your pockets!

Cell phones, wallets - we don't need them. Once we've found each other at the location, communication will be smooth sailing from there!
